Welcome to PokeSpeRP, a community dedicated to roleplaying as characters from the manga Pokemon Adventures, or Pokemon Special. Because I don't expect this group to be terribly large, I'm going to include the rules in this section here.

Rules

1. Please follow all basic RP rules. If you don't know what those are, check out this nifty list.

2. I am learning. LJ is a completely new format to me, so I am probably unaware of some awesome tools. Please do not hesitate to message me (crystalpool) any ideas you have.

3. Unlike some RPs, I'm not going to require that you create a new journal for your characters. However, you do need to add a character profile picture for each character that you play, and then use that picture under each entry from that character.

4. You must post separately for each character you control. For example, if I am in control of both Crystal and Green, and they are in Professor Oak's lab along with Emerald and Silver, then I couldn't post Green talking and Crystal walking in the same post. I would need to post separately for each character.

5. Posts must be at least three sentences long. More is preferred. Posts must be in third person, using decent grammar. They don't have to be perfect, but you must use complete sentences. For example, I wouldn't say, posting as Crystal: '*walks in* Hello' I would say: 'Crystal walked into the room, saying, "Hello."'

6. IC conflicts are not OOC as well; please keep all drama out. Also, please keep all OOC chatter to threads marked as OOC.

7. Respect all other participants. No matter what. If I hear about you being rude to another RPer, I will not hesitate to boot you from the RP.

8. If you are going to be away for a while, let us know both IC and OOC. It's easy enough to make up a reason for your character to vanish. Also, if you unexpectedly vanish, I'll just throw your character into a coma. And if you don't return or let us know what's going on, I'll open up that character slot again.

9. If you have to leave permanently, let us know about that too, so that I can reopen the spot.

10. Post in something at least twice a week, preferably more. Otherwise, that qualifies under that whole 'disappearing' thing under rule #8. Obviously, special circumstances do arrive, but let me know. Okay?

11. Canon characters only. I will not accept OCs. And no anime characters. This RP is for Pokemon Special only.

12. You must apply separately for any characters you would like to play.

13. Anything goes. No explicit material (violence, abuse, addiction, sexual activity, etc) but you can imply things. But remember, keep it in character. After all, Blue might do naughty things with some random guy from Celadon City, but Sapphire probably wouldn't, and Yellow definitely wouldn't.

14. Post in something at least twice a week, preferably more. Otherwise, that qualifies under that whole 'disappearing' thing under rule #8. Obviously, special circumstances do arrive, but let me know. Okay?

15. You may have no more characters than I have at any given time. Currently, that number is three. I don't drop characters, but I don't take on extras very often. Just a note.

16. If I deny your application, you have one more shot to apply for any spot. If I still deny you, please don't try again.

17. Oh, yeah, don't God mod. If two characters are on a secret date, the guy's real girlfriend shouldn't be showing up, unless the date is in a place where that character would logically go anyway. Likewise, you can't retcon your way into knowing secret evil plans. If you left a bug in the meeting room, you have to say so before hand. Duh.

Application

Please post your application(s) in in your journal, and then send me (crystalpool) a link. If I accept it, I will then add you to the community and post your application in the post entitled 'Accepted Applications'. Remember, if you are applying for multiple characters, you'll need to make a new entry for each of them.

Sorry if the character sheet seems a bit extreme... I copied it from another RP community, Red Crayon Academy. I'm not nearly as selective, I don't believe.

History: (Please have a few good paragraphs words in your own words. No copying from Wikipedia or any other sources; if you are caught doing this your application will automatically be DENIED. I would like you to describe in detail the specific experiences that have shaped your character and how they have affected them. If your character has a limited or vague canon history, please feel free to be creative and give us the one you came up with for them.)

Personality; (Please have a few good paragraphs words in your own words. This section must be 200+ in your own words. Explain how your character acts and reacts to others and changes. Be sure to include any nervous habits, interesting quirks as well as explain their motivations. This tells us how you will be playing your character. We understand that there are some characters that have limited canonical information on personality, this is fine - feel free to fill in the personality you yourself play this character with.)

Abilities & Skills: (Abilities are anything not beyond human ability that your character can do. This can be a skill or something they have learned over time such as dancing or playing a piano. Skills are those things which makes your character unique. Specifically, the things which make the Dex Holders so awesome. For example, Crystal's capturing ability.

Weaknesses: (Weaknesses are something that everyone has. Weaknesses can be physical or psychological. For an example of the physical we have deformities, bad eyesight, or chronic ever-present illness. As an example of the psychological we have any kind of fear, a mental condition, and all phobias. Think this through and know what you're giving your character especially if you give them a life long illness or mental disorder. These are permanent and you will not be able to magically cure them. Also, if your character has a power over say fire? Logic dictates that he/she would have a weakness to water/ice. This section may be in list format. Also, this can include strategic weaknesses when it comes to Pokemon battling, if you must.)

Other: (This would be the place to list anything you feel we should know while processing your application. Characters prized possessions they will have with them, likes or dislikes.)

Writing Sample: (This section is one of the most important parts of the application. This section should be at least 200 hundred words. Basic grammar and punctuation will be evaluated. Please run your application through a spell check and proof read it after. If you need a topic to write about you can leave a message requesting one from me, and I can give you a prompt. I'd prefer if the sample had something to show off your characterization skills of your specific character, such as an encounter with their crush or their enemy.

If there are questions in regards to your application, I reserve the right to request a second sample or one-to-one mini-play to better assess your rping.)

Only Dex Holders and other important characters are included in the table by default. If you'd like to play as someone who is not a Dex Holder, I will add him/her to the list.
