In this issue, we will aim to explore and to uncover a variety of creative and innovative insights arising from enterprise and academic perspectives. The issue starts with two interesting articles that present topics about natural languages processing techniques applied within two different contexts that add new points of view to these previously explored topics within the research field of the Metaplastic discipline. EN) The workshop has obtained a High Patronage of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It dis... more EN) The workshop has obtained a High Patronage of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It discusses themes linked with creation and application of the virtual reality in tha Arts and Craft, to produce and communicate cultural content. The event gives an occasion to express and discuss different combinations of art languages and industrial design planning. The activity develops in two different but interactive levels: the student laboratory and the discussion forum about inherent themes. The meetings will be held at the Ecole du Louvre and Politecnico di Milano, Industrial Design Faculty between professors and students. Simultaneously through a web blog there will be a continuous debate and elaboration on the proposed projects. As results the workshop offers different exposition models with significant examples developed within the student laboratory.

It discusses the realization of the metaplastic cyber media through the interdisciplinary methodologies between reality and virtual realities. The cyber media acquires form and meaning through its process of conceptual interpretation. The Metaplastic artistic machine becomes aesthetic expression of virtuality. Some examples of applications are introduced through the Open Metaplastic software and hardware modelling design framework.

The poetics of artistic machine indicated different hypotheses of evolution within the Avantgarde... more The poetics of artistic machine indicated different hypotheses of evolution within the Avantgarde movements' ideas from the beginning of the 20th Century. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce several historical moments of artistic and scientific thoughts that have conducted to actual media developments. This paragraph on Art History would introduce and follow a conceptual path of different notions exploration about artistic machines visions. It is also a search for aspects of artistic machines which had led to the definition of original characteristics of the metaplastic virtual worlds. The Manifest of Futurist Reconstruction of the Universe wrote by Balla and Depero in 1910, emphasized the particular interests of the Futurists' movement which suggested a future fusion of Art and Science. Boccioni, one of the major Futurist's exponents, aimed to represent the Space of Soul and he has tried to decompose the object-painting to explore the Pure Becoming of Perception. This research explores emotional response to gesture in order to inform future product interactio... more This research explores emotional response to gesture in order to inform future product interaction design. After describing the emergence and likely role of full-body interfaces with devices and systems, the importance of emotional reaction to the necessary movements and gestures is outlined. A gestural vocabulary for the control of a web page is then presented, along with a semantic differential questionnaire for its evaluation. An experiment is described where users undertook a series of web navigation tasks using the gestural vocabulary, then recorded their reaction to the experience. A number of insights were drawn on the context, precision, distinction, repetition and scale of gestures when used to control or activate a product. These insights will be of help in interaction design, and provide a basis for further development of gestural vocabularies.

Interaction systems with the user need complex and suitable conceptual and multisensorial new med... more Interaction systems with the user need complex and suitable conceptual and multisensorial new media definition. This study analyzes social and conceptual evolutions of digital media and proposes an interactive mixed-space media model which communicates the information contents and enhances the user experience between interactive space of physical objects and online virtual space. Its feedback gives information through user performance among its multisensorial interfaces. The research widens previous research publications, and gives precisely a definition of a fuzzy logic cognitive and emotional perception level to the metaplastic multimedia model. It augments the interaction quality within its conceptual media space through an action-making loop and gives as a result new contents of information within its metaplastic metaspace configurations.
