DOCOL 1100M WELDING IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF ELECTRIC MEANS OF TRANSPORT Summary. Advanced high-str... more DOCOL 1100M WELDING IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF ELECTRIC MEANS OF TRANSPORT Summary. Advanced high-strength steels are important for the automotive sector. Metal active gas (MAG) is the most popular method for joining grades of steel. The goal of the paper is to analyze the mechanical properties of the MAG welding joint made of highstrength DOCOL 1100M intended for the construction of electric vehicles. The manuscript shows a basic understanding of the properties of DOCOL joints. This type of material is characterized by a martensitic microstructure, which makes it difficult to make a proper joint. The tensile strength, metallographic structure, and type of non-metallic inclusions were analyzed as a function of the oxygen amount in the protective gas mixture. Investigations of oxide non-metallic inclusions were carried out using scanning electron microscopy. This article attempts to obtain high joint strength of the electric vehicle structure by controlling the average size of non-metallic inclusions in the weld, which is influenced by shielding gas in the MAG welding process. The solution has application potential for the automotive industry, especially for electric vehicles.

This paper focuses on the technical problem of repairing the main operating elements of heavy veh... more This paper focuses on the technical problem of repairing the main operating elements of heavy vehicles (semitrailers, dumps, and drums). If these vehicles are in service, significant changes in work schedules can occur, and costs can be generated immediately. Therefore, using the correct technology for repairs is crucial to minimizing financial and logistic difficulties. The article aims to analyze the mechanical properties of an MMA (Manual Metal Arc) welding (covered electrodes) joint made of Hardox 450 steel. This kind of material has a martensitic microstructure, which is difficult to weld because of changes in the components to the other ones during the joint process. Other inconveniences are related to the different chemical composition of steel and covered electrodes, their mechanical resistance, and thermodynamic conditions (consisting of the pre-heating temperature and the cross-pass temperature). Therefore, the joint quality should be determined using a few methods. In this case, NDT (magnetic and radiographic tests) and DT (microstructural analysis and static as well as fatigue tests) were used. All obtained results have enabled the proposed guides for the MMA welding of the steel grade. This is indicated as follows: (1) the method of bevelling the sheets before welding should be used, (2) pre-heating is necessary at temperature levels of 100 C and 125 C, and (3) the recommended interstitial temperature is between 170 C and 200°C.

There is extensive research on new materials for valves and for the improvement of valve production technology. This paper discusses the method of obtaining a filler metal made of Fe3Al intermetallic phase and the method of TIG hard-facing on a valve seating face made of H9S2 steel, evaluating the effects of essential hard-facing parameters. The resulting hardfacing build up was assessed in terms of quality using industrial radiography testing (RT).

Material 6082 was chosen for use in responsible structural components. The structure and strength parameters of the material in the delivery state were tested. Tested material parameters were compared with normative requirements. The purpose of the paper is to check the mechanical properties of aluminum alloy welded joints by various processes and parameters. Until now, welding of 6082 alloy did not give good and repeatable results. Because of that, two welding methods were analyzed (MIG and TIG) in the field of the quality of welds, strength of welded joints, and material structures obtained as a result of welding with various parameters.

The composite powders were obtained in the activated self-propagating high temperature synthesis. The complex phase composition of powders confirms an appropriate selection of technological parameters of SHS process. STRUKTURA KOMPOZYTOWYCH PROSZKÓW Z OSNOWĄ NiCr, FAZĄ FeAl, WĘGLIKAMI I TLENKIEM GLINU Przedstawiono strukturę kompozytowych proszków o osnowie NiCr z wprowadzoną fazą FeAl, węglikami chromu i tytanu oraz tlenkami aluminium. Proszki o złożonym składzie fazowym wytwarzano w procesie aktywowanej syntezy wysokotemperaturowej ASHS. Określona została procedura technologiczna wytwarzania takich proszków. Strukturę proszków analizowano metodami mikroskopii optycznej i skaningowej. Skład fazowy i chemiczny proszków określono metodami rentgenowskimi X-ray i EDX. Proszki charakteryzują się dyspersyjną strukturą (rys. 1). Wyniki badań składu fazowego proszków przedstawione na rysunkach 2-7 potwierdziły przyjęte założenia ich składu fazowego oraz właściwie dobrane parametry technologiczne syntezy. Wytworzone proszki są przeznaczone do natrysku cieplnego powłok. 1 dr inż., 2 dr inż., 3 mgr inż.

In the structure of crane bumpers, there is a need to join various types of steel. Usually, low-a... more In the structure of crane bumpers, there is a need to join various types of steel. Usually, low-alloy steel structures are used for this purpose, which can be represented by S355J2 steel. The tensile strength of S355J2 low-alloy steel is slightly below 600 MPa, and the tensile strength of S355J2 steel is at the high level of 200 J at ambient temperature. The impact strength of this steel in negative temperatures is also good at over 47 J at-60 °C, so it meets the 6th class of impact toughness. Welding structures, after classic gas metal arc welding (GMAW) processes, meet only the second impact toughness class. An improved GMAW process was used by micro-jet cooling application to raise the mechanical properties of the joints. The microstructure and main properties of the joints were carefully analyzed. The influence of using the new suggested welding process on the various properties of the welds is presented (UTSultimate tensile strength, YSyield strength, Poisson ratio, elongation, Young's modulus). Then, the effects of tests for use in crane bumper construction were checked by using a hybrid finite element method (FEM) analysis.

Advanced high-strength steel (AHSS) is being used increasingly often in the structure of means of... more Advanced high-strength steel (AHSS) is being used increasingly often in the structure of means of transport. Welds made of these steels can crack in the heat-affected zone (HAZ) and have inferior mechanical properties compared to the base material. The goal of this paper was to solve the technological and material problem of obtaining highstrength thin-walled welded structures of AHSS steel designed for heavily loaded elements of transport means. The novelty of the article is its presentation of a modified welding process which enables a high-strength structure of the obtained joint to be obtained without welding defects and incompatibilities. Copper backing was selected as an effective method of heat dissipation in the process, and, using the basic solutions method, the leverage of a heat flow process in the weld method deposit (WMD) was checked after cooling down the substrate. The fundamental solutions method was used to determine the optimal shape of the backing. It has been shown that the new backing affects the structure and mechanical properties of welds. In order to verify the newly developed method, tensile tests of the obtained joint were carried out, the hardness was assessed, the metallographic structure was analyzed, and non-destructive tests were performed. The developed material and technological solution were used, for example, for the construction of the arm element of the mobile platform.
