The first addressed topic by Misha Dohler, Thomas Watteyne, Fabrice Valois and Jia-Liang Lu, describes fundamental scaling aspects of ad-hoc networks with a very large number of nodes. The second paper by Patrick Marsch and Gerhard Fettwe analyzes cellular networks. Yikang Xiang, Jijun Luo, Egon Schulz and Carmelita Gorg show why inter-cell interference in OFDMA networks is expected to be a key limiting factor of performance. The last article by Michel Sortais, Sven D. Hermann and Adam Wolisz show why the localization of mobile devices is essential for the provisioning of location based services.

The linear expression is based on a Taylor expansion of the received power collected on a set of measurement points. The terms of the Taylor expansion are then integrated in a transfer matrix able to predict a vector of received power from a composite vector of Cartesian coordinates. Using the pseudo inverse of this matrix it is then possible to find the Cartesian coordinates of any unknown reception point, from the vector of mean received powers at this point.

The videos need for their transmission over Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs) high rate that motivated the use of Ultra Wide Band (UWB) Audio Visual (AV) PHY IEEE 802.15.3c. This paper presents a method which improves the efficiency of video coding using H.264/AVC in order to transmit the encoded video over Ultra Wide Band IEEE 802.15.3c wireless system. The H.264/AVC baseline video coding uses several static Group Of Pictures (GOP) with fixed sizes that specify how the I (Intra) and P(Predictive) frames are positioned during the video coding process. This method aims to ameliorate the coding efficiency of H.264/AVC video coding and to achieve subsequently a better video quality. The obtained simulation results are compared to each other. Thus fixed GOP structures of sizes 1 and 2 achieved the gain up to 6 dB in terms of Average PSNR (Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio) when Eb/N0 = 5 dB compared to GOP structure with length of the entire video.
