Please sign this petition and put this foul piece of humanity (or lack there of) away for as long as possible. The horse's name is Naysa, and if you cannot bear the pain...do not look at the pictures or video. Since the poor girl wouldn't get into her trailer, he made a barbed wire harness and dragged her behind it, before shooting her in the face. Naysa survived.
Thank-you all for your compassion,
~M

This was in my e-mail to-day:
Hi M.,
Late last week, officials in the Bush/Cheney Administration announced a new proposal that would sanction the killing of more than 700 wolves in the Yellowstone area and parts of Wyoming, Idaho and Montana, including wolves protecting their pups on National Forest lands and Wilderness areas.
Care2 has joined the dedicated activists at Defenders of Wildlife in an all-out mobilization to save these wolves, and we need your help! The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is accepting public comments on this outrageous proposal until August 6th. Send your message now to oppose the Administration's latest assault on America's endangered wolves.
This proposal would set the stage for aerial gunning of wolves in Wyoming and Idaho and clear the way for the extermination of three out of four wolves in the Lolo area of Idaho's Clearwater National Forest, a plan that had been shelved after more than 41,000 wildlife supporters spoke out against it.
Federal officials are still reviewing the hundreds of thousands of public comments submitted in opposition to the Administration's plan to eliminate Endangered Species Act Protections for gray wolves in the Northern Rockies.
Yet the Bush/Cheney Administration is bending over backwards to allow the killing of still-endangered gray wolves.
Fight back against this latest assault on protections for endangered wolves. Send your message to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service now.

What will and can you actively do for Project Prometheus?
It does not matter if you consider yourself an artist only, or of a technical sort...what matters is that you apply your talent and have faith in the cause(s). It also matters not if you participate in one or all: The Free Leonard Pelitier Defense Fund, Wild Horse Preservation (national), Wolf Haven, and the American Indian College Fund.
The plan: to hold multi-media benefits for each charity, one each season (four per year). The hope is to either move from city to city with these benefits: educating, entertaining, and enlightening; or to have chapters in other cities. The dream is global. Yes, I have set my sights high for us, but "I don't know another way to aim." (William, A Knight's Tale)
It is about freedom, please read a previous entry below, literally or metaphorically. I have wanted to do this all my life, and now that I have a chance, with having very little, and your willingness to help...it can be done.

To-day, as I was watching Hidaldo, I realised the inter-relationships of Project Prometheus. What the charities have in common: The Free Leonard Peltier Defense Fund, the American Indian College Fund, Wolf Haven, and horse rescue. (The latter being up for debate wild/domestic and local/national) It begins with freedom. This country was founded on it. Each one is about the freedom to live, educate, and remain a symbol of it. It is the physicality, the mentality, and moreover the Spirituality.
We have been giving it up little by little and leap by leap...land, life, and our souls. Each day we watch the buildings take away space, complaining about the loss of parks/wildlife preservations, gentrification, and historic landmarks. But what are we doing, other than bemoaning these goings-on bitterly. Some of us are doing a few things here and there, what we can. It is hard to take a stand...but we have to do something. We cannot rest complacently and let our freedoms be taken away. To paraphrase, this world is not ours, it is a gift from our collective children.
So here's the deal: what I am asking is that you actively join Project Prometheus. The charities are set, but you have a choice whether or not to participate in all, some, or one of them. Let us know what you are willing to volunteer. Any aid is greatly appreciated. Currently, I am asking for a vote on the horse rescue. The choices are national wild horse rescue and preservation, local wild horse rescue, or domestic local. Please join the Project at: www.myspace.com/projectprometheus
Namaste.
