School vacation unchanged the situation; Jennie still worshiped Bob from afar, and he remained entirely oblivious. At last, Jennie consulted an "Advice to the Lovelorn" column, and in pursuance of their advice, opened a millinery shop, with the object of impressing Bob with her business ability. The millinery shop was a lamentable failure. Jennie did not have the slightest idea about trimming hats. Bob paid no attention to the store. Passing one day with Annabelle, he stopped and laughed at one of the hats. Jennie, discouraged, went to the city to buy spring styles. She met Miss Karker, a buyer. A few discreet questions laid Jennie's troubles bare to the listener. Miss Karker decided to help. The first step was to teach Jennie how to dress.
