But Ricardo's father is also a noble and a suicide is a disgrace to him and he forbids his son to wed the daughter of the self-murdered Count. So, Ricardo marries without his consent and is banished and disowned. Ricardo, two years later, meets with a tragic death and in her despair his beautiful young wife goes to the gate of Ricardo's father's home and pins a note to her child and sends it in.
