His brother, Henry, had gone to Mexico and had acquired valuable oil lands, also a wife, Bina, a great flirt. Jack Winthrop, a young college student; a lawyer, Allen Bradley, and Dr. Lentine are among her most devoted admirers. Things have not been going very well in a financial way for Henry, and his lawyer announces his credit is no longer good. Paul pays a visit to his brother, and for the first time is attracted by a woman, but the hopelessness bewilders him. Bina recognizes a new victim and when she confesses her love, he quits his brother's house, leaving a note that business interests call him home. Henry's affairs reach a crisis, and he chooses the easiest route, feeling that his brother has deserted him at the crucial moment. Bina wires Paul of his brother's suicide, as he has struck it rich and is celebrating in the mining camp. He goes home and blames Bina for Henry's downfall, and when she appeals to him he flings her from him and goes back West. Bina plots to revenge herself on Paul. Dressed very elaborately she goes to the mining camp and begins a flirtation with the gambling sheriff, and is entertaining the gamblers when Paul arrives. She repulses him when he attempts to make her leave. He goes home, gets his horse and returning to the dance hall, with a gun forces her to leave the place, holding off the men and starting a fight between them to distract their attention while he takes her away. Arrived in the wilds, he forces her to don overalls and to cook her own meals. Paul falls over a cliff, and Bina, puzzled by her own sensations, is nursing him when Allen Bradley, her husband's attorney and an old admirer of hers arrives and tells her her fortune in Mexico has been restored. As she is wondering why the news fails to enthuse her, the gamblers arrive. She refuses Bradley, and fights for the man she finds she loves. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
