The minister, who really loves Sue Grant, tries to dodge the militant old maid, but in vain. He is timid and not self-possessed and failing to oppose the proposition at the crucial moment, Jane quickly spreads the news and loses no time in closing the deal. On the day assigned for the nuptials, Jane, not intending to run any risk, calls for the pastor at his lodgings. She pounds on his door but receives no response. In the meanwhile Jenks is racing to the depot. Old man Prue, who has been sent on an errand for his daughter, encounters the minister and cheerfully assists him to escape. The landlady and her three sons also assist in the exodus, which is successfully accomplished. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
