Warring departs for Mexico, Pedro, a Yaqui, in charge of the mine, is informed of Warring's selection and that he is to assist him. Warring thinks the force too large and fires some of Pedro's men. The Yaqui is enraged. The Wilsons are expected in Mexico. Pedro plans to hold up their train. A ruse gives Warring the information and he arrives with his men as Pedro fires on the train.
