The scene opens showing the gardens of the two families divided by a wall. The parents are seen scolding their children. The young lovers, seeing that they cannot meet undisturbed in their paternal homes, go walking in the woods, and are surprised by a terrible thunderstorm. Seeking refuge under a huge tree, the young man is struck by lightning, and the unhappy girl has to run for help, and, with the aid of some friends, she carries him to her father's home. She nurses him back to life, and his father, seeing his son revived and saved by the brave girl, consents to their marriage. Written by New York Clipper - February 24, 1906 See less
