Nora meets Lansing, a wealthy clubman who takes her out to cafés and roadhouses with her mother's consent but against her father's wishes. Nora's mother tells Noble over the phone that Nora is out; disgusted, he goes home to his parents on the farm, while Nora continues to go around with Lansing. After one of their trips to a roadhouse, Lansing, who has been drinking heavily, runs the auto over the side of the road into a ditch and nearly into the river. But with that warning the mother still wants Nora to marry Lansing, which she does. Three years later, Nora is very unhappy. Lansing does not stop drinking and goes to his club with chorus girls every night while Nora sits home. Nora telephones her mother and tells her to come to her; when she does, she asks Nora's forgiveness for the unhappiness she has caused her. Nora takes her mother in her arms and her forgiveness is given as the story ends. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
