Although the cause of her death may have been by the hands of her alleged stalker, certain evidence points to the death being self-induced: she may have placed herself in a tenuous position in the likelihood that she would be found before dying. Under Curtis' blackmail, Pierce publicly does not endorse the concept of a red light district, which causes Da Vinci to go on a tirade against Pierce.
