While demolishing partitions, they discover the body of Jean Jacques Merette, the real estate agent who regularly threatened the remaining occupants. Still living in the building are an elderly couple who has always refused to leave, a couple negotiating a monetary compensation, a nostalgic young woman who returns from time to time to her grandparents' apartment, and a shoemaker still managing his store.
