Thinking that it is a fly, the bookkeeper protects himself by hiding his head under the lid of the desk. The boy then places a basin of water on top of the lid. The old broker enters and finds the bookkeeper asleep. The latter awakes suddenly, throwing the basin of water in the air. The water lands in the face of the typewriter.
