Tom Gold and his wife perform at the Half Moon, a low down night club with bad acts including a .hypnotist. Tom appears to drink too much and his pop singer wife encourages him to perform because they " need the money." He could have made it big. All his friends got record deals and made it into orchestras. He is left with these night club acts and teaching private classes.
