To prevent her from calling for help because he fears for her life, Lionel gags her and trusses her up. At the railway station of Sacramento, a man, in possession of a note signed by Sophia, gets on the train. He seems in search of her. Augusta tells Laken about the charge of her father. She announces to her about the link of Lionel with Sophia. Ted, who goes to see Laken, has an accident with his jeep. He arrives irritated towards the Lockridge's. Augusta accepts the visit from a policeman who informs her that if Lionel does not come to their post the following morning, he will be considered as a fugitive. And Augusta is unaware where he is. In spite of the analyses of his doctor, Peter decides to release himself from the private hospital. He phones Kelly who refuses to see him because she must go to work, then goes to Joe who asks him to leave. Peter then goes to The Mesa. When seeing him entering, Veronica leaves the table and runs away. Barbara Anderson, one of the waitresses, offers Kelly to leave and to finish the coffee. By looking at her, Peter has visions of Kelly. The man on the train, Marcello, ends up finding Sophia in the cabin with Lionel.
