Upset, Clodagh turns Carol away but later at The Clinic Tom shows up and won't leave until Clodagh hears him out. He becomes physically threatening and Lorcan has to step in to remove him from the premises. Carol returns to beg the shaken Clodagh not to get the Gardaí involved and, while Clodagh agrees to this request, she decides its best not to talk to Carol anymore. Meanwhile, Lorcan ruffles more feathers at a management meeting by proposing that a methadone clinic be run on the Clarence St. premises. While Julia and particularly Dan strongly oppose it, Cathy soon makes them realise that as co-owner, Lorcan has rights: he's not just another employee. Dan is incensed to then find Lorcan moving into the basement flat. A troubled teenager makes Patrick doubt whether he's the right man to counsel her while his relationship with Bernie suffers as a result. Although aware of the physical demands of the job through her dealings with Paul, Keelin is delighted when Ronan gets his dream-job with the ERU. Cara discovers that money has gone missing from petty-cash and then lends a sympathetic ear to Aine when she confides in her that Billy is out of work. To ease their money-problems, Aine then agrees to work for Lorcan at his night clinic. Finally, prompted by a patient's difficult family circumstances, Clodagh reconciles with Carol and understands the difficult choice she made in giving her up all those years ago.
