The tinder/swipe culture and the ramifications it's ...See moreWhen I wrote the song "Get In Line", like any artist I wrote about my personal experiences, but I was also inspired by the culture of dating in today's world. How people "ghost" people. The tinder/swipe culture and the ramifications it's had on the social interaction of dating and communication as a whole. We now live in a culture where we seek instant gratification and are always endlessly searching for "the next best thing." "Get In Line" was my response to how people choose to wait for so long, that in the end they lose the very thing they seek. We don't have forever, life is short and until we realize that, we will let possibly the greatest relationships in our lives slip through our fingers. I based the idea for the video loosely upon one of my favorite novels Under the Skin by Michel Faber, which was turned into a film starring Scarlett Johansson in 2014. It's a dark satire on factory farming and the mistreatment of animals. I wanted the video to show the theme of "meat" and how we mistreat not only animals, but ourselves and in turn, we are damaging the world around us. Written by Cody Carrera See less
