Thanks to Karla Waterloo Road wins a spelling bee with a rival school but Rachel's victory is short-lived as Hordley stands up to expose her past as a prostitute. Rachel however gives an impassioned speech,regretting her past and winning the support of staff and pupils alike. A beaten Hordley,about to leave,accidentally causes a fire with a discarded cigarette.
