Kelly asks her mother for advice, wondering if she must tell the whole truth to Nick or if lying can sometimes be a solution. After questioning Janice, Mason understands that something happened between Kelly and Dylan. Janice makes him promise to repeat nothing. Dylan goes to search for Kelly on the oil rig. But the engine of his boat breaks down and he finds himself stranded there with Kelly. They hope that Pearl is going to come and rescue them. The party begins at Buzz's in their absence. Brick asks for Nick's assistance to identify the baby in Dr McRae's photo, and who could be the "true" Brick Wallace. Nick puts him in contact with the old photographer who took all these pictures of new-born babies in the hospital. The old man, who is senile, lets Brick search his archives. Brick finds a second photo of the mysterious baby there, the name of who appears at the back of the photo. Kirk offers Eden to pay the 10 000 dollars himself demanded by their blackmailer. Eden receives another letter asking her to leave the money in the graveyard. She complies, then goes back there later.
