Bob, an employee ...See moreA woman house-hunting alone isn't the safest thing in the world, but Pansy thoughtlessly takes this risk. She calls at a real-estate offices and gets addresses and keys to furnished houses, one of which is in the suburbs. Bob, an employee of the office, is very taken by Pansy, and she by him; he follows her out with admiring eyes. His duties in the renting department include going about putting up "For Rent" sings in the yard and the drawing-room windows. When he goes on to the next house, he discovers that he lost his hammer, then remembers that he left it in a room in the previous house and starts back. Meanwhile, three tramps alighting from a passing freight have stolen some food and taken possession of the vacant house. When Pansy arrives at that house he walks into their arms. They take her money and jewelry, then fight over her; the man who wins relinquishes the money and jewels to his partners. when she arrives walks into their arms. He lifts her into his arms, she fighting and struggling at this horrifying situation, and is just about to carry her into an adjoining room when Bob enters. A fight ensues. At his request Pansy leaves him in the room with the three tramps and he undertakes single-handedly to keep them there while she summons the police. By the time they arrive, the windows are smashed and the room pretty well torn up. Bob is badly battered, but not defeated. The money and jewels are restored. Pansy tries to thank Bob for her deliverance, and suddenly throws her arms 'round his neck, an act to which heartily submits. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
