They begin in a railway carriage, where a fellow passenger is induced to temporarily leave the carriage, because Mrs. Tweedledum objects to smoking. In his absence, his baggage is rifled. Then the criminals shift their ground to a large hotel, and Tweedledum drugs the wine of an elderly fellow guest, and takes advantage of his helplessness to rifle his room. Later, while Tweedledum is with the manager, nominally to pay his bill, his wife rings up on the 'phone and so engages the manager, while Tweedledum clears the safe.
