First we see the men rope climbing, and are astonished to see the fate at which they travel up the ropes. Then there is ladder-climbing, the men starting with one length, running up that, adding another, running up that, adding another, ...See moreFirst we see the men rope climbing, and are astonished to see the fate at which they travel up the ropes. Then there is ladder-climbing, the men starting with one length, running up that, adding another, running up that, adding another, and so on unto they reach great heights. Then a run for shooting ropes to high positions is demonstrated, and we see the rope shot up and a fireman slide down it. Next a building, supposed to be a school, is on fire. There is some clever work done by means of an escape. A long sheet appears to be fastened to the building, and held at its lower end by firemen. The kiddies are placed in the sheet, and slide rapidly down in quick succession, to be clicked out as they arrive at the bottom. The children saved, the firemen Jump from great heights into the sheet, and slide down to their comrades below. A final picture shows the fire-fighters actually at work.
