But the single mother still tries to maintain her drive. One morning, when she cuts off Matthias Winkelmann, a top manager who is also single, she cheekily shuts up the astonished man in a suit. Winkelmann, a board member of the textile company "Bloomfeld AG," lives in a chic designer villa and lives solely for his work, has no idea that he will soon see the cheeky young woman again. After a breakdown resulting from internal rivalries and constant work-related stress, his doctor orders him a month-long strict work ban. Shortly afterward, while jogging, Matthias accidentally runs into Lotte, who is coaching her young son Benni's soccer team on a sports field. Benni is immediately taken with the soccer-mad stranger. Feelings soon develop between Lotte and Matthias, too. Over dinner at Lotte's apartment, the two finally grow closer. Here, Matthias also learns that Lotte works for the very supplier factory his company wants to get rid of for economic reasons. Unable to tell her the truth, Matthias denies his professional position. But when Lotte is asked by her desperate boss, Karl Hagen, to discuss wage cuts with the workforce, it is Matthias, of all people, from whom she seeks tips on the necessary negotiating skills. Still unaware of his true profession, she sets off with Karl Hagen to Bloomfeld headquarters - and encounters Matthias in the hallways. The ensuing confrontation with the board of directors leads to a scandal. Suddenly, everything is at stake: the existence of the "Rheinland" factory, Matthias's professional future, and above all, his love for Lotte, who has long since completely captivated him with her lively personality.
