A young man, sleepy and dazed, conics across the mattress laid on a table, and creeps inside and falls asleep. When the two return they sew the mattress up without suspecting his presence. Setting out to deliver it, the man props it up against the wall while he takes a rest. Looking round, he finds it missing. The young man has walked off, hampered somewhat by his novel suit. The sight of the walking mattress perturbs two police officers, and they go off for reinforcements, the latter becoming mixed up with the crowd of others affrighted by the mattress. In the end, the mattress is seized by the servant at the house to which it belongs, and is placed on the masters bed. The latter flings himself down-and bounds up more quickly, for the mattress has shown signs of life. The police enter and drag away the mattress, but its occupant is left, and as the film concludes he is sleeping peacefully on the bed frame. Written by The Bioscope - November 23, 1911 See less
