The widowed teacher and divorced mother of two soon no longer want to settle for a long-distance relationship. Oliver packs his things and moves with his daughter Holly to the Bavarian countryside, where Johanna runs a garden center. But everyday life in a mixed-up extended family presents unexpected difficulties for everyone involved. Holly is still grieving for her mother and feels alienated from Johanna. Her daughter Lisa, who is the same age, is suffering from problems at school that are more serious than her mother realizes. And with all the family chaos, the heating in the garden center has also broken down, which is endangering Johanna's financial existence. The bank is stubborn and refuses to give her a loan. Johanna cannot pay the tradesmen. But instead of Oliver, she asks her aunt Maria, the former owner of the small business, for help. Maria lends her niece 20,000 euros, but doesn't tell her that the money comes from Johanna's ex-husband Kilian. He has just split up with his very young girlfriend and now wants to win back his ex-wife - with Maria's active support - which Oliver naturally doesn't like. When it then comes out that Kilian is behind the financial help, which Oliver didn't even know Johanna needed, Oliver feels ignored and deceived. The trust is gone. Oliver and Johanna agree that their decision to move in together was clearly a mistake. Extremely sad, Oliver packs his things and returns to Berlin with Holly - a separation for good?
