One of the ladies is housekeeper of the flats where Polidor lives, another is a fellow tenant in the building, and Polidor circumvents both these ardent ladies by making two appointments. The fellow tenant he persuades to conceal herself in a wardrobe, in the belief that she is to be conveyed to his room. The wardrobe is conveyed to the landlady's apartments, and that lady opens it under the impression that Polidor is concealed within.
