The great honor accorded him fills him with delight, and his small stature in contrast with the other members of the regiment is the cause of many humorous situations. After his enlistment he sits down to rest and falls asleep. He then dreams that a duchess falls in love with him and takes him to her castle. He there falls in love with her, but each time he tries to embrace her she changes into a tall grenadier. At the marriage ceremony, each lady he tries to kiss becomes a grenadier, and he finally attempts to fight the lot. In the midst of the melee he awakes to find that some mischievous boys have substituted a bitch broom for his musket. An officer passes and is saluted with the broom. Tontolini is arrested and cast into prison, a sad ending to a glorious dream. Written by Kinematograph Weekly - August 18, 1910 See less
