She was indeed poisoned by birthday surprise chocolates delivered trough a school boy, yet hadn't long to live given her cardiac condition. She loved modestly but regularly donated significant sums under false names, without paperwork, to Rüttges's animal asylum, reverend Thielsch's parish and Dr. Teichmann's museum and Benno's goons use their own investigation methods. Would be author Ralf Binder was her regular cabby, enjoying some generosity too, despite a dark past, but helps the team work out the poison plot, while clues at home inspire Reuter to find the culprit and motive.
