It has not only overcome space and time, but has been the means of saving lives at sea which otherwise would have added numerous marine disasters to the long list already recorded. But in addition to this it has closed the door of escape to criminals who otherwise might have avoided the punishment of their crime. From the robber baron to the present day criminal it is a long step, but history proves that the suppression of crime is largely due to the fact that with the progress of the times it is becoming more difficult for the criminal to avoid capture. Thus the wireless telegraph adds another link in the chain that will, let us hope, eventually prevent all crime. These conditions are what saved an innocent man from suffering shame and imprisonment for a crime which he did not commit and proved the undoing of a misguided fool and the trusting stenographer who accompanied him disguised as a boy.
