The two discuss the evidence against him: Artie was found murdered in Vince's apartment, and the police also found drugs hidden there. Jim speculates that someone is framing Vinnie for the crime, but who? Jim recounts his visit to the drug rehabilitation center Odyssey House while in New York. He admits he discussed Cathy's drug use with them, and they agreed he could bring Cathy the next time he visits. Jim tells Anna how the police suspect Artie's murder was mob-related, so Joe is going to California to find Artie's pusher Stan Perlo who left for the coast immediately after Artie's death. At the airport lounge, Viki worries about Joe, though he doesn't anticipate danger. He reminds her that Stan Perlo is the only lead they have in the Duncan murder. Despite his reassurances, she begs him to stay with her a few more minutes. Grace drops by Carla's office where her son is busy typing a medical report. Price informs her that Carla knows he has been offered a fellowship in Edinburgh, and she didn't offer an opinion about taking it or continuing with their wedding plans. His inability to make a decision frustrates Grace. She counters that Carla would likely understand delaying their marriage so that he could complete the fellowship, but Price reminds her that he is more interested in opening a free clinic with Larry than doing research in Scotland. She encourages him to consult Jim's professional opinion of the fellowship offer. Price phones Jim just as Carla arrives. Carla admits she doesn't want to cross paths with Price just yet as she loves him and can't interfere with his plans. She tells the Craigs about Price's fellowship and that he hasn't accepted yet. Jim wonders if Carla can offer any leads in Vinnie's case since she knows Millie and met Artie Duncan years ago, but she can't. Joe and Viki talk about Skelly's likelihood of indicting Vince for Artie's murder, making it imperative Joe find another suspect. They exchange heartfelt goodbyes and affirmations of their love for one another. Troubled, Viki calls Joe's name once more as he walks away to board the plane, but he doesn't hear her.
