It showcases the beauty of what a modern skate park looks like, a skate park that is a crowning example of a D.I.Y. park. It was constructed on a low budget with the blood, sweat, and tears of local skateboarders and now hosts an environment in which the youth of the city come and play freely. The short was also filmed around the Mexican holiday celebrated near Halloween, Día de los Muertos aka Day of the Dead, and hence gave birth to the title- 'Day of the Dead Shred'. The film comes in anticipation for the planned freeway construction that would eventually give rise to a new park across town. Capturing the real spirit of a historic seaside community in the Los Angeles harbor is no easy feat, but this short attempts to do just that. Written by Anonymous See less
