This evening of food and drinks is accompanied by music and entertainment up and down Harlem's Restaurant Row. History of Harlem, Part II: Continue to enjoy while you learn or refresh on Harlem history. This week we'll cover the migration of African Americans north, from Five Point and from the South. DHTV Historian and Tour Guide Lavelle Porter will continue his explanation of some of what has made Harlem what it is now. We hope that you will still enjoy learning something about Harlem that you perhaps didn't know before. Camaradas El Barrio: Camaradas El Barrio is a Restaurant, Bar, Music Venue, Art Gallery, Dance Hall and gathering place all in one. Our host William Vargas takes you inside to meet the managing owner Orlando Plaza, have a bite of their "Puerto Rican Pub food" and of course try their famous sangria. You'll want to check this place out after watching. Marcia Sells Interview: Marcia Sells has been a long time resident of Harlem and for over ten years been Associate Vice President, Government & Community Affairs at Columbia University and for just over the last two also the Associate Dean, Community Outreach Programs at Columbia University School of the Arts. She came to New York City in the 1970's to work in the Arts, so it is no surprise that she became a resident in Harlem which is steeped in History in Art. Host Lydia Patel talks with Marcia about life and work in Harlem and at Columbia. Written by ADF See less
