Alfie learns from Michelle that Carly has a new boyfriend Fozzy so he pretends he has met another girl to spite her. After admitting to Michelle that it is a lie he decides to follow through and dates old school-friend Julie, who is smart and attractive - until she opens her mouth. After he sees her snogging somebody else he has to come clean to Carly. Anne-Marie meanwhile impresses a group of ramblers on a hen party whilst Judy's brother Gary celebrates being Employer of the Month at his broadband company by inviting his boss, the diminutive Sheila, to dinner.
