Bo, his son and caregiver, is left to figure an ethical, loving way of handling this hallucination. He resorts to silence until it's too late; until after his father has passed away peacefully. Perhaps there was nothing rectifiable about the hallucination to begin with. Light manifests in our lives in different ways when we most need it, all that we have to do is to believe in it. "Believe in the darkness what you have seen in the light." Simultaneously as Jeffrey transports peacefully to death, Bo wrestles with his own romantic relationship with Jacob. Jeffrey has always denounced Bo's love as being illegitimate and beholding less power; this wouldn't have mattered as much if Jeffrey wasn't such a living paradigm of love. Especially upon his father's death, Jeffrey's words ring louder than ever. Bo is left to figure-again-whether to love Jacob and disregard his father's advice or love his father by heeding his advice...and suppressing his own powerful, all-consuming love for Jacob. There doesn't seem to be a correct person to love, and Bo broils within himself in the vastness of our set in the southern Californian desert, in the middle of nowhere. Written by Ethan Guan See less
