Festivals would be held in temples and in open fields, portable screens and projectors setup and and a narrator would provide a live audio track. All of the parts would be spoken by one (or two) people, sound effects would be created and live music would be played. While most original Narrators have retired or died, one man is still working hard to keep the art alive though his road-side museum and his continued dedication to the craft.
