His parents are very busy with settling into the new house and their job troubles and they urge Samuele to join the local scout group, so that he can meet the other boys in town and have some activities. His mother and father are both atheists, and have never taught the boy anything about religion, so it all comes as a shock when the scout troop turns out to be associated closely with the local Catholic church.
