Based on the merits of the case, the judge is about to dismiss Mrs. Gellar's petition to have Brooke released on bail. Despite Jonathan's objections, Eric then issues a heartfelt declaration of Brooke's abilities as a mother and that he cannot let her stay in jail any longer despite her recent rash decision. The court closes the proceedings and Brooke becomes a free woman again. After the baby shower, Sly slowly changes his attitude about Jessica being pregnant. When he accuses her of being at fault for not using contraception, Jessica threatens to call off their engagement. This alarms Sly who immediately back-paddles. Jessica bluntly tells Sly that he will have to man up for her and the baby. Maggie and Dylan discuss Jessica's plan to teach Sly a valuable lesson as well as his tribulations to raise money for his tuition fee.
