He likes the romantic story about their Interrail acquaintance, a love affair for just one day, and that's precisely why it's so great. Ben never knew his father, so he doesn't miss him. Sylvia is both his mother and his closest confidante. But this trust threatens to shatter when Sylvia's past catches up with Ben, and Ben learns that he is, in fact, the product of a rape.
