When the protesters also start rioting in the clubhouse, Hubert and Staller are alerted. But the property damage is immediately forgotten, as the police find the responsible construction contractor, Katja Sperlinger, on the golf course - fatally hit by a golf ball. The two investigators are quickly able to rule out a sports accident. This leaves club manager van Bargen with no doubt: the anonymous "anti-golfers" are behind the crime. And when Hubert and Staller identify a slingshot as the murder weapon, their suspicions grow stronger. The protesters had used the slingshots to fire balls onto the course, thus disrupting play. But are the activists truly capable of cold-blooded murder? Hubert and Staller decide to take a closer look at club life. They are astonished to discover that behind the facade of the perfect sports world, something is amiss: Katja Sperlinger also had enemies within the club. The two police sergeants begin to doubt the motives of the "anti-golfers." Were the protesters being used as scapegoats, behind which the perpetrator could cleverly hide?
