Marilyn talks to Morag about an appeal, convinced everyone will soon realise a mistake has been made, but is given a bit of a reality check when she visits John in prison for the first time. Leah and VJ tell Irene about Ash applying for custody and he receives a cold reception from all three of them at the Diner, while Kat and Patrick seem less than committed to the idea. They reveal the new information to Morag, who says all they can do is prove that Billie wanted to marry VJ. Roo asks Leah about moving back to the house; Ash overhears and decides to try and rent her flat. Irene talks to Morag and learns access to Luc would mostly be at Ash's wishes if he had custody.
