They have a romantic lunch and get on well together but soon start arguing when Leah admits she still can't get past Sam. Afterwards, she gives him back the ring. Marilyn tells Morag John has been beaten and Morag manages to pull the appeal forward. Deacon hears and tells John his daughter died in the fire where he was burned: He killed the person who lit it but now intends to kill John as well. John talks him down and is released, his sentence reduced to community service. Morag says goodbye to them and also wishes Roo well. Phoebe ropes Tori and Justin into helping her fix up the farmhouse prior to an inspection, which ends up being carried out by Roo.
