Karen loses her temper with Nick, who stops by the operating theater to observe Erich's surgery. Steve wonders what's going on in Karen's head. As Erich's body is being warmed, his heart suddenly stops, but Matt manages to massage it into beating again. Hank tips Nick off about Mike's recent problems, including his missing an operating room assignment. Nick states that he'll drop Mike from the lithium project if he's too tired. Erich goes into cardiac arrest again, but is saved once more. After Erich is moved to the recovery room, Steve sees Karen embracing Matt.
