With the sale of the inn still in escrow, Captain Goddard attempts to persuade Joe to sell to him instead of Patricia. Later Goddard meets with a developer planning to build a theme park on the inn property if they can get it away from Joe and Patricia. Patricia fears everything will be ruined if Rita recognizes her, but Cissie swears she won't and convinces her to give Rita a month's trial as housekeeper. Fisher attempts to bust up Crystal and Randy by casually mentioning Ricky's name. Crystal reassures Randy that he's the only man for her, and Ricky is part of her past. Catching Fisher harassing Holly, a sympathetic Nell attempts to help her, but Holly is too afraid to trust her with the truth. Crystal is passed what appears to be a Dear Jane letter, though it turns out to be a marriage proposal. Maria is terrified to find Holly unconscious on the floor of their cell.
