Molly and Uncle David worry about who will be insulted that they weren't invited, and Carrie Barnett has the same fears. Jake, as the groom's father, offers to help pay for his half of the wedding, which was not the norm at the time. He decides to keep his offer a secret from Molly. Carrie and Molly simply can not whittle down their lists, and the number of couples grows from 20 to 61. Then to make matters worse, Molly and Carrie realize that a home wedding will now no longer suffice. Off they go to see Mr. Sender at Avon Limited Catering to check out their three wedding plans. Of course, Carrie Barnett chooses number 3: the most expensive of all. Meanwhile, Sammy and Dora decide that all that money and effort are unnecessary and unwanted, and they request that the money be used instead for a down payment on a house. This makes Jake and Jerome Barnett thrilled. However, the issue of how many couples comes up again, and then the plan reverts to the big, expensive, and overblown wedding. At the end of the installment, Jake and Jerome walk into the Haverville bank to apply for a loan for wedding number 4, which Jerome says he didn't even know existed. Written by Robert Gold See less
