Its sole MD takes his retirement anyway, despite the mayoress, teacher Helen Thomson, imploring him to stay one more years as she rejects the only applicant so far, her ex Dr. Nael Rayan, whom she dumped at college, wrongly assuming him unfaithful. Helen accepts a marriage proposal from vicar Edward Donalds, whom she doesn't really love. Rich, hypochondriac Lord Hurrleton, who owns half the town, including the medical practice, hires Ryan anyway despite being a follower of the Aga Khan and very foreign, who soon starts integrating in the community after sole general store keeper Donna Trafts recruits him to substitute the old doc also as the lead, king Henry VIII, in the play the reverend wrote for the 500 town anniversary, kissing Helen as opposite lead, and sparks fly soon. Their budding love seems doomed, despite Edward being dumped, by the arrival of Nael's wife Jasemin and daughter, actually 'inherited' from his late brother according to their Farsi tradition, and later a second, Lesbian wife Shirin whom he helps appeasing her conservative father. All seems lost, but Rayan 'cures' the lord and love finds a way for more then one unlikely couple. Written by KGF Vissers See less
