The study made use of a cadastral map at a scale of 1:2880 and a modern land and building record map. For the purpose of adjusting reference systems, the cadastral map recorded in the form of a digital raster image, in accordance with applicable provisions of polish law (Journal of Laws No. 263 §49), was subjected to a two-stage calibration. The first stage consisted in carrying out initial calibration with the employment of first-degree affine transformation. In the second stage, final calibration was performed using mathematical transformation that considered the distortions detected in the previous stage. The results showed shifts, consolidations, and divisions of land parcels with regard to the present state, and changes to property structure. The proposed method may prove useful for further research on historical urban system morphology, and on restoration and renewal of the urban tissue.

The specificity of spatial values was influenced by the natural and cultural environment as well as the historically accumulating multicultural heritage, an important element of which is the architecture with roots anchored in Galicia. After the first partition of Poland in 1772, the territory of southeastern Poland became part of the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria. Another political decision strengthened the architectural influence in this area of the Carpathians. The next two partitions and political changes resulting from the decisions of the Congress of Vienna outlined the final shape of Galicia's borders.

One of the main achievements, apart from the port of Gdynia, was Stalowa Wola – a city built on a “raw root” with a closed, avant-garde composition, which was largely realized. The appearance of the city was influenced by the doctrines: modernist (including socialist modernism) and socialist realist. The article presents a design procedure model that can be used in the case of designing areas with the morphogenesis of a modernist city. The proposed method uses the theoretical considerations of Aldo Rossi and Jan Gehl and the elements of User Experience Design (UX).

The article attempts to create a typology of the most characteristic layouts of housing estates and to indicate the main factors influencing the formation of building complexes. The subject of the study is the analysis of the specificity of the spatial development of suburban zones in three cities: Rzeszów, Poznań and Warsaw. The aim of the analysis is to show the similarities and differences in selected areas. The implementation effect is the recognition of the nature of the buildings spreading outside the city’s territory. Determining the typology of buildings that can be located in specific areas may also help in practice of issuing decisions on development conditions. The catalogue of possible solutions, together with the analysis of the produced communication systems, will allow to forecast the spatial shape of fut...

According to the European Standard EN 206 “Concrete–Specification, performance, production and conformity”, obligatory conformity control of concrete is carried out by the producer during its production. In order to verify the quality of concrete, investors generally commission independent laboratory units to perform quality assessment of both concrete mix and hardened concrete, which guarantees a high quality of construction works. One of the essential tools for ensuring the quality of test results is the participation of laboratories in the so-called proficiency testing (PT) or inter-laboratory comparisons (ILC). Participation in PT/ILC programmes is, on the one hand, a tool for demonstrating the laboratory’s performa...

In the case of small European towns, they are usually strictly defined: and include market square, side squares and streets, which are often clearly connected with each other with regard to functions and composition. There are also municipal units, which have been created as a result of the development and expansion of residential developments located near important industrial plants (e.g. within the Central Industrial Region). These units were built in accordance with the modernist principle of a functional town in its original form and did not have traditionally defined public spaces. The article presents the history and possibilities of creating such spaces in a small industrial town based on an example of Nowa Dęba.

Specific cases of such complexes are two small cities built from scratch around growing industrial plants. The article presents certain functional and spatial changes in two urban centers: Nowa Dęba and Nowa Sarzyna, which are located in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship.
