The BIM software (Building Information Modeling) enables a holistic model-a complete description ... more The BIM software (Building Information Modeling) enables a holistic model-a complete description of the model-building for a complete analysis and validation prior to build, as well as the plotting of final design in architecture and its subsequent maintenance. Users can extend virtually unlimited capabilities. For this reason we have chosen a BIM with programmability by the user to create a calculation module to validate, the heat transfer and possible condensation on both walls and ceilings. The Revit Architecture BIM was chosen using the API (application programming interface) in C#. In this paper, we analyze the experience gained and the results achieved. The objective is to create a calculation and graphing module thermal transmission and condensation.

This paper describes the implementation of Automated Structural Calculations For CAD Programs. We... more This paper describes the implementation of Automated Structural Calculations For CAD Programs. We aim to develop a newly conceived software prioritizing the analysis and structural design in the conceptual aspect, linking the calculation with the usual graphic procedures by means of a specific application for local education methodology, that will be intellectual property of our University. It refers the methodology applied in the implementation of the program and the pedagogical aspect we considered. The software is developped as a macro programmed in open source code (Visual Basic Application) with data-input and data output generated in AutoCAD 2000. The specific objectives are: to obtain significant improvements in the habitual resolution standards of complex exercises, to obtain suitable software with free distribution for academic purposes with minimum costs and develop an adequate instrument to the specific architects' work modality in our faculty.

Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC) in recent years has been intensively developed and their use exte... more Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC) in recent years has been intensively developed and their use extends day by day. Although it is not a really new material since the concept of fibers as reinforcement of concrete can be traced to historical examples such as mud mixed with thatch, its use is recent compared to the concrete itself. They have advantages when subjected to minor stresses on reinforced concrete (RC). For example, it is possible to control drying shrinkage more efficiently. It is used in applications that require low amounts such as pavements or precast elements of low structural commitment.

This thesis inquires optimization mechanisms in the Structural calculation of this material, using computer tools. Taking as a starting point the sectional analysis propose instruments for the numerical calculation approach. Although there is an impulse in this country in this area and there are several works that are developing there is much ground to go. It was therefore sought to provide solutions that allow automating the calculation and do it faster than and as accurate as possible.

The state of the art allowed defining local needs and opportunities for the development of calculation tools through the analysis and application of strategies such as the Gauss quadrature. An algorithm was developed whose results were tested with other works already published. Likewise, the results compared to the analytical values were analyzed, thus determining the most appropriate method for this.

To complete the analysis, the tools developed were applied to a real case of production in our country, a precast element that, due to its design and performance characteristics, is adequate to be produced with this material. An economic scenario was analyzed comparing three constructive alternatives: reinforced concrete, FRC with metallic fibers and FRC with macro plastic fibers.

The work presented here allowed in the first term to define with precision the adequate mechanism to implement Gauss' quadrature in discontinuous functions. Of the four methods studied one is clearly efficient, implementing the quadrature by continuous sections within the section.

Another conclusion that is drawn is that for low amounts FRC have a large field of use since they can economically compete with traditional materials such as RC, with the advantage that the quality of the material can be improved both from the point of view of its Finished and structural performance.

En todas ellas, las palabras construyen conceptos, despiertan ideas, y transmiten un sentir. Las palabras provocan, inquietan, movilizan.

Desde el inicio del itinerario hasta las postrimerías del mismo, estas metalecturas acompañan al lector haciéndolo parte del viaje, invitándolo a transitar nuevos destinos, y a vislumbrar otros horizontes.
