Creating a conversation: insights from the development of a decision aid

Abstract

The authors share lessons learned from their development of_Statin Choice,_ a decision aid for patients with diabetes who are considering using statins to reduce their cardiovascular risk.

Developing the Statin Choice Decision Aid The design process used to develop our decision aid involved user-centered observation and synthesis and an iterative development process. This process tested versions of the decision aid that incorporated insights from the research evidence, our observations, and user feedback [26].
